Fahad M. Alhuwaishel (S’09-M’16) received the B.E. degree in electrical engineering from Kuwait University in 2010, received the M.Sc. and PhD degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University in 2015 and 2021 respectively. He was honored to receive the prestigious Recognition award by the Amir of Kuwait in 2010, and recipient of golden award from Genève International Invention Expedition in 2010. As well as he is nationwide referee in the state of Kuwait for inventions category. In 2010, he joined an internship program in Hyundai Engineering in Seoul, South Korea. Next, he joined an internship program in wireline department in Shlumberger, Kuwait. In 2011, he joined EQUATE Petrochemical Company as an Analyzer Engineer in the Technology Improvement Department in the state of Kuwait. In 2015, he joined College of Technological Studies at Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, Kuwait, where he is currently an assistant professor. He is the holder of three US patents. He has several publications within IEEE conferences/journals. He also served as reviewer in IAS, JESTPE and TTE IEEE journals. His main areas of research interest are advanced power electronics, smart cities, renewable energy systems, high voltage DC transmission (HVDC), battery storage systems, unmanned aircraft system (UAV’s), electric vehicles (EV’s) and adjustable speed drives (ASD).
