Dr Laurent Milliere graduated with a master's degree in materials chemistry from the University of Saint Etienne and the Polytechnic School of Lyon. He continued his training with a PhD grade at the Laplace laboratory of the University of Toulouse. Its research was attached to finding a solution to the problems of electrical space charge injection in HVDC cables. Since then, he has worked for 18 months on a cosmetics project at the CEA tech in Grenoble. In his last experience and in connection with this paper, since 2018, he has joined the fuse section Innovation pole within the Mersen company. Its activities focus on phenomena occurring during fuse operation, multiphysics simulation, improving arc quenching and fuse performance with new solutions.
