Snehal Bagawade received the Bachelor of Technology degree in electrical engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad, India in 2011. He received MASc. degree Electrical Engineering (Power Electronics) in 2016, and Ph.D. in 2022 from Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario.
Before joining GVA, he was working with Block Energy Labs, (Emera Technologies Inc.) as an R&D engineering team lead for design, prototyping, and testing of micro-grid systems. In the past, he has worked as a product development engineer in the R&D team at Sparq systems Inc. for the development of solar micro-inverters from 2014-2020. Before moving to Canada, he was with the power distribution systems group of Tata Steel Odisha from 2011 to 2013 in India, where he worked for testing, installing, and commissioning of the high-power industrial distribution systems.
His main areas of interest include high-frequency power converters (AC-DC, DC-DC) for the applications of LED lighting, microgrids, renewable energy conversion systems, and their corresponding control systems. He has authored more than 20 international publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and 2 patents.
