Koji Orikawa (M’09) was born in Aomori, Japan in 1985. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical, electronics, and information engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology (Niigata, Japan) in 2010 and 2013, respectively. From 2013 to 2016, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Nagaoka University of Technology. Since 2016, he has been an Assistant Professor at Hokkaido University (Hokkaido, Japan). His research interests include power conversion system especially high frequency output inverters, planar inductors, and high frequency transformers. Dr. Orikawa received the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) Industry Applications Society Distinguished Transaction Paper Award in 2016 and 2022 Third Prize Paper Award of The Power Electronics Devices and Components Committee of the IEEE Industry Applications Society in 2023. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and IEEJ.
