Pavan Kumar received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University and the Indian Institute of Technology Chennai, India in 1988 and 1990 respectively. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Victoria, BC, Canada in 1996. He worked in the area of power electronics at the National Radio and Electronics Company, Mumbai, India, from 1990 – 1991 and for Northern Telecom and ASTEC Advanced Power Systems, Ottawa, Canada from 1996 to 1999. He is currently a Principal Engineer in the area of power conversion in the Data Center & Artificial Intellience Group (DCAI) at Intel Corporation, Hillsboro, OR, USA where his main charter is the development of efficient power solutions for server and memory applications. He has been involved in the area of power electronics for over 30 years and his main area of interest is power conversion for computing equipment ranging from handhelds to server systems.
