SiC power devices continue to penetrate additional power electronics applications. The wide mix of mission profiles and environmental conditions requires a well-defined reliability assurance program. Especially new operating modes like fast transients at high voltages or body diodes in synchronous rectification as well as challenges with mechanical properties of SiC impacting e.g. the power cycling behavior need to covered. The presentation will deal with selected aspects regarding the behavior of SiC transistors mainly in industrial applications.
