Senior Researcher
National Renewable Energy Laboratory
Dr. Yeongrack Son currently serves as a Senior Researcher at the Power Systems Engineering Center, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Seoul National University, South Korea, in 2011, 2013, and 2017, respectively. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a Staff Engineer at Samsung Electronics, South Korea, and he held a postdoctoral researcher position at NREL from 2020 to 2022. His research interests span from the device to the system level of electrical power systems, including power device characterization, design and control, and techno-economic analysis for power electronics-based resources and loads.
