Dr. Patrick McCluskey (Ph.D., Materials Science and Engineering, Lehigh University) is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. He conducts research at the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE) in the areas of reliability, thermal management, and packaging of electronic systems for use in extreme temperature environments and high power applications.
Dr. McCluskey has published nearly 200 refereed technical articles with over 4000 citations, has 5 US patents, and has edited three books. He has served as technical chair for multiple international conferences and workshops, including being General Chair for 3D-PEIM 2018 and the 2023 IMAPS High Temperature Electronic Conference. He is associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology. He is a fellow and member of the Executive Board of IMAPS; a senior member, member of the Board of Governors and Awards Director of IEEE EPS; and a member of ASME and ASEE.
