Born in Marshall, MN, Justin worked in industry for 5 years before attending Saint Cloud State University in Central MN where he obtained a BSEE and a minor in Optics. He worked as a lead production floor technician for Schott Corporation, a custom magnetics company headquartered in San Diego, CA and as a systems designer and electrical technician for Diversified Machine, Inc, a small custom automation shop that has done work for everyone from Nordictrack to Creative Memories. During his Senior year at SCSU, Justin worked as an intern in the Engineering Test Services Group at Honeywell Aerospace in Coon Rapids, MN before accepting his current position of Power Development Engineer at IBM in 2007. In December 2016, Justin acquired his MSEE from Iowa State University with a focus in Microelectronics and Photonics. During his 15 year career at IBM, Justin has spent his time in Power Development and System Architecture, working w/ Memory, Processor, Thermal/Mechanical, Software/Firmware teams to deliver IBM's Cognitive System Roadmap and set direction for next genaration IBM systems. Justin also works as Power Subsystem Architect for IBM Quantum Systems.
