Claudio Adragna is a Company Fellow, Member of the Technical Staff and of the Fellow Scientific Committee of STMicroelectronics.
After earning a master’s degree with honors in Electronic Engineering at the University of Palermo (Italy), he joined Co.Ri.M.Me., a consortium for microelectronics research. In 1994, he moved to STMicroelectronics where he headed the Power Conversion Applications Laboratory for over 15 years and presently serves as Sr. Technical Advisor in the “Application Specific Products” Division.
His expertise lies in ac-dc and dc-dc power conversion in consumer, computer, home appliances, lighting, and industrial segments. He primarily deals with the architecture definition of control ICs for switch-mode converters: PWM, quasi-resonant and resonant controllers, PFC controllers, etc. To accomplish this task he works on modeling, simulation, analysis and design of high-frequency, high-power density, power converters; evaluation and application of power semiconductor devices; modeling, simulation, analysis and design of analog and digital electronic circuits.
Throughout his thirty-year career, he has architected and supervised the development of over a hundred products, contributing to their successful market introduction and setting some new trends in control ICs for power conversion. His innovative efforts have resulted in over two hundred international patents granted in his name.
Claudio is an IEEE Fellow and has authored over eighty publications including a book, conference papers, technical articles in journals and trade magazines, and application notes. According to Google Scholar, as of December 2023, he has been cited over 2600 times.
