This work presents the design of a push-pull class Ф2 power amplifier capable of delivering 1 kW at 6.78 MHz for induction heating to decarbonize industrial thermochemical processes. The amplifier also utilizes a custom resonant gate driver for SiC MOSFETs and a balun in order to drive a ground referenced 50 Ω load to deliver power to an induction coil and susceptor. This work also showcases an experimental prototype of this push-pull class Ф2 power amplifier delivering 500 W directly to an induction coil to drive a reverse water-gas shift reaction (RWGS).
