Magnetic components significantly impact power electronic circuits, especially at high frequencies. Size and performance of coreless inductors at these frequencies are limited by electromagnetic interference (EMI) and eddy current losses. Recent advances in high-performance magnetic materials have led to interest in using cored inductors to achieve an improved combination of size and loss. The proposed research focuses on high-power, high-frequency, high-performance cored inductor, utilizing magnetic materials and self-shielding design to minimize flux emissions and avoid EMI and eddy current losses.
