The parameters of equivalent electrical model of Induction Machines are necessary for appropriate operation of conventional drive systems. This paper proposes a novel and fast approach for IMs parameters identification at standstill condition. The proposed method involves three steps of DC signal injection for parameters identification. In the first step, the stator resistance is identified. The second step is assigned to equivalent leakage inductance and rotor resistance identification and the rotor time constant is extracted in the third step. Based on the identified parameters all of the parameters of the d-q model of IMs in an arbitrary reference frame are accurately calculated. The accuracy of this approach has been confirmed through some experimental and simulation results for various IMs with different power ratings.
