This digest proposes high voltage DC-DC converters (HDC) with high power density using single zero voltage transition (ZVT) soft switching cell. It has the advantage of requiring only a single resonant inductor and capacitor regardless of the number of phases. In order to validate the feasibility of the proposed structure, the operating modes are analyzed based on the duty cycle of the main switch. Through the comparison of volume between hard switching and proposed structure conditions, the enhancement in power density of the 210kW HDC with proposed structure is confirmed. To verify the theoretical analysis of the operation principle for the proposed structure, a 3kW prototype is implemented and evaluated. As a result, it is confirmed that the proposed structure has advantages in terms of improvement of efficiency and power density for designing HDC.
