This paper proposes a line-interactive UPS that can simultaneously achieve high efficiency and high power factor. A tri-port transformer (TPT) can isolate the commercial power supply, battery, and load with a single component, enabling high reliability, high efficiency, and low noise. This paper proposes a high power effi- ciency and power factor Line-Interactive Tri-port UPS. The experiments confirmed that the proposed method could achieve an input power factor of 0.98 and a power efficiency of 87.5%. In addition, the system was veri- fied to be highly reliable, with a seamless transition to backup operation in the event of an input failure.
