Power amplifier is an important part of microwave wireless power transfer technology. In order to achieve high efficiency, it is necessary to precisely match the fundamental output impedance and control the harmonics. However, the coupling between the fundamental impedance and harmonic impedance leads to the poor accuracy of impedance matching and harmonic controlling. To solve this problem, the principle of impedance decoupling is proposed. The harmonic impedance of the power amplifier is decoupled from the fundamental impedance. And the harmonic controlled power amplifier is optimally designed to realize the better working performance. A 5.8GHz/25W harmonic controlled power amplifier is constructed to verify the proposed optimal design strategy.
