This digest presents an ultrac compact large-air-gap capacitive wireless power transfer system. The system utlizes a stacked inverter power combining architecture enabling excellent power sharing against mismatches. The compactness of the system is achieved by operating 27.12 MHz, which enables the use of on-board air-core magnetics and shrinks the system overall size. A detailed topology comparison and design methodology is presented. Finally, a prototype 27.12 MHz capacitive wireless power transfer system is demonstrated experimentally.
